Variety Kids on the Move

Variety’s mobility programme provides life-enriching assistance to Kiwi kids. We get kids moving, give them independence and help them to participate in family and school life by providing the mobility equipment they desperately need.

Each year Variety provides hundreds of children who have physical restrictions with much-needed specialised trikes, chairs and standing frames. At last these children are given the freedom to move. They can join their families and friends for bike rides and participate fully in school activities.

Providing access to play equipment suitable for children of all abilities is another priority. Variety partners with forward-thinking individuals, corporations, trusts and councils to provide all-abilities playgrounds, and Liberty Swings which accommodate children in wheelchairs.

The annual Variety Bikes for Kids Tour provides deserving or disadvantaged children with the freedom and independence of their very own bike.

For communities in need, Variety provides groups with Sunshine Coaches to transport thousands of New Zealand children to school, therapy and community outings.
