Variety Bash
An integral part of the Variety Bash is community involvement and distribution of grants to children and child based organisations while travelling around New Zealand. A call for grant applications is made to the each area on the Bash route prior to the Variety Bash and Variety Mini Bash and the approved grants are presented to the recipients by Variety Bash participants as they travel around through each region.
The call for applications for the Variety Bash are made in October with a deadline of the end of December. The call for applications of for the Variety Mini Bash will be made in June with a deadline of the end of July. The Variety Bash will also participate in a community project with each event. This involved 100-200 willing "Bashers" pitching in to help to spruce up a school, kindergarten, playground or children sports club. If you have a project that you think the Variety Bash can help with please contact jodi@variety.org.nz Then there's the Variety Mini Bash, a long weekend Bash taster held each September. At the heart of Variety's fundraising efforts is the unique Variety Bash a quirky car rally which travels hundreds of kilometres during one week in March each year fundraising for Kiwi kids, distributing grants, entertaining children and telling the Variety story.
The grants can cover educational resources, mobility equipment, medical resources such as insulin pumps, books, sports equipment.......
