Nine-year-old Matthew has Cystic Fibrosis and Autism and requires a vital lifesaving vest keeps his body clear and free of mucus. This special physio vest will improve his quality of life, and most importantly - his life expectancy.
There’s no government funding available to provide Matthew with this vest he urgently needs. His family has tried everything possible to find the money, so much so that they have raised $2,000 themselves, but times are tough and they now seek our help, to help turn funding this vest into reality.
For Matthew, and his mother, the vest will mean his chest infections will decrease.
It will mean improved quality of life.
It will remove the burden of care.
It will help increase his life expectancy.
Rebekah, Matthew’s mum, shared with us a little more about what the vest will mean for the family, “Matthew’s future lies in our hands. It is vital that we continue providing him with the physiotherapy care that he so needs. At present Matthew’s life is very limited due to the constraints around his care, so much so that he is not reaching his full potential or having anything resembling a normal childhood. Our goal is to give Matthew as normal a childhood as is practical. Without the vest to improve his independence and health outcomes this will not be possible.”
