Friends

Friends of Variety is a voluntary group formed in 2006 to support the work Variety does in helping Kiwi kids to reach their full potential.

The group organises and hosts a number of top-quality events each year to help raise money for Variety, as well as promoting our work in the community.

Friends of Variety is chaired by Aline Sandilands and committee members include Diana Fenwick, Karen Olsen, Fiona Milburn, Pat Courtney, Joneen Smith, Bev Roberts, Joan Caulfield, Fiona Buchanan, Ilona Rodgers and Karen Kay.

Variety is also supported by a sub-committee of the Friends, Yummy Mummies for Variety. These ladies host special events to raise money for Variety; Karen Olsen, April Ieremia, Jillian Friedlander, Antonia Whitlock, Andrea Borich, and Jo Chaplin.

Simon Dallow - Helping Put Smiles On Kid's Faces

Well-known journalist and ONE News anchor Simon Dallow came on his first Variety Bash in 1995 and he's been involved with Variety - The Children's Charity since, most recently accepting the role of Variety Vice Patron.

Antonia Prebble cycles Vietnam for Variety

Kiwi actress Antonia Prebble never expected a phone call asking her to cycle through Vietnam, but when the chance came to be part of Variety's Vietnam Cycle Trek raising funds for mobility equipment for children affected by the earthquake in Christchurch, she grabbed the opportunity and rose to the challenge.
