We raise and distribute funds to children in need of basic necessities, vital medical equipment, life changing mobility needs and essential learning opportunities. Variety fills the funding gaps. We meet a wide range of grass-roots needs through three core areas: Future Kiwi Kids, Caring for Kids and Kids on the Move.
Nearly 1 in 3 Kiwi kids live in deprivation. Variety helps by connecting these children in need with a sponsor. For as little as $45 per month, Kiwi Kid Sponsorship provides essentials that a local child would otherwise go without, it might be basic clothing, shoes, stationery for school, warm bedding, medicine or an extra-curricular activity that helps them feel included. Each year Variety provides around 450 deserving or disadvantaged children with the freedom and independence of their very own bike. Some children have overcome adverse circumstances, in some situations the family is simply not in a position to purchase a bike and in other cases the programme recognises and rewards children who are role models at their school or in their community.
